Biography
Mrs Kaye Walsh is the Lead Nurse for the NENC-CHD Network who believes that teaching and education is the key to safe and effective patient care. After qualifying as a children’s nurse in 2002 she has worked in cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery in both Dublin and Newcastle.
She specialises in the lifespan care of patients with congenital heart disease and leads professionals across the regional network developing collaborative relationships and robust education programmes. Her passion for education and simulation enhanced learning has led to the development of a virtual reality education platform research project in collaboration with Teesside University.
She is a registered Children’s nurse RN Dip HE (Child), progressing to BSc Practice development and furthering professional studies with a PGCert in Education and Teaching. She is currently undertaking a MSc in Human Factors and Patient Safety.
